Intensive Adult Services

Family Service Spokane’s (FSS’s) Intensive Adult Services are designed to respond to the needs of individuals impacted by severe and persistent mental illness and their family members.  Services are based out of the agency’s Washington Branch office, but may also be provided out in the community, including at residential facilities.

 

Goals of Services

FSS’s Intensive Adult Services are designed to:

Educate individuals on specific disorders and develop individualized strategies for managing symptoms;

Assist in the identification and development of healthy and effective coping skills;

Assist in identifying and enhancing personal strengths and attaining an optimal level of functioning and independence;

Connect individuals with necessary supports and resources; and

Assist individuals in meeting their needs and remaining stable in the community.

Description of Services


Once a comprehensive mental health assessment has been completed to determine the needs of the individual seeking services, an individual service plan is developed.  Services provided may include, but are not limited to:

Scheduled in-office counseling appointments with a primary mental health care provider;

Outreach services provided at the individual’s home or other community location;

Participation in groups or classes;

On-site individual and group treatment for individuals struggling with substance use or dependence;

Assistance accessing psychotropic medications, and ongoing coordination with medication prescribers;

Close collaboration with community resources to meet individuals’ needs related to areas such as housing, medical and dental treatment, transportation, vocational/educational rehabilitation, or continuation of benefits; and

Hands-on training, assistance and support with skills essential to independent living and integrating into the community; and

Crisis response and intervention, including close collaboration with crisis response services within the community.
