What is the FASST Program?

Families and Schools Succeeding Together (FASST) is a unique partnership between the East Valley School District (EVSD) and Family Service Spokane (FSS) that provides accessible counseling and mental health services for students and families.

Services may be accessed by contacting the principal, a school counselor or a FASST Counselor at the student’s school site.

 

Services Offered

Services provided to students enrolled in the FASST Program may include:

Individual counseling

Family counseling

 Assessment and referral

Crisis intervention

Anger management and conflict resolution

Problem solving and coping skills development

Social skills training

Case management

Group counseling or support groups

Parent support and education

When and Where Services are Provided

Services are provided at each school site during the course of the school day and, at times, after school hours. On occasion, either during the school year or over the summer, services may be provided at Family Service Spokane’s Valley office, located at 112 North University, Suite 100.

Cost of Services

FASST Program services may be paid for using medical coupons, private insurance and/or payment on a sliding fee scale.  Access to services will not be denied due to inability to pay.

FASST Counselor Qualifications

All FASST counselors have a master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.

Confidentiality

While school staff are aware of students’ involvement in FASST Program services, details regarding what is discussed in counseling are kept confidential.

Parent consent is required for students to participate in services.
